  • Maximum 10 MB per file.
  • Supported: common source and text files, JSON, CSV, logs, PNG, JPEG, GIF, WebP, and PDF.
  • Empty, unsupported, or oversized files are rejected before the run.

Settings sections

  • Providers — CLI paths, browser sign-in, API keys, endpoints, and available models.
  • Integrations — Linear and Notion authorization and status.
  • Web search — engines, Brave API key, SafeSearch, region, and test search.
  • Voice — local dictation model download, selection, and removal.
  • Appearance — app theme, editor theme, and file icons.
  • About — version, repository roots, database path, and local runtime URL.

Local paths

The exact database and repository roots appear in Settings → About. Uploads, artifacts, updates, encryption material, and voice models live under Motriz's platform app-data location. Prefer the UI-displayed paths over assumptions about a specific username or home directory.

Update behavior

  • The UI polls local update state frequently, while the remote manifest is fetched at most about once per hour.
  • Offline and transient manifest failures are silent and retried later.
  • Only a newer published build ID is offered.
  • Installation requires every active run to stop.
  • Remote updater archives have a 200 MB cap and must pass checksum and code-signing verification.
  • A successful installation restarts Motriz automatically; a failed bundle swap attempts rollback.

Current product boundaries

  • No hosted Motriz account or project sync.
  • No Motriz Cloud credit balance or billing plan in the current release.
  • No Windows or Linux distribution in the current public install contract.
  • No Git requirement for a manually added folder, though Git unlocks changes and GitHub workflows.
  • No per-command permission prompt for Build agents.
